Custard Protein Toast

Toast, with a plot twist! We found a similar recipe going around on reels and we thought we would have to give a similar style of recipe a go. This sweet breakfast meal is high in protein and full of flavour, so if you are all out of breakfast options, you have to give this one a try!

 

Serves 1 – 333kcal / 3192kJ , 21g protein, 12g fat, 27g carbs

 

 
Healthy deep dish french toast recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla essence

  • 3 Tbsp Danone YoPro Vanilla Yoghurt

  • 2 x Slices Helga’s Lowe Carb High Protein Bread

  • 5 Strawberries, sliced

  • 1/4 tsp caster sugar

  • 2 Tbsp Queens Sugar-Free Maple Syrup

 

Methods

  1. Turn your oven on to grill, at medium/high heat OR turn on your air fryer to 200degrees.

  2. Place the bread on a chopping board, and indent the inside of the bread with your fingers or a spoon, to make a hollow in the middle.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla & yoghurt. Pour mixture into your bread slices. Top with strawberry slices and a sprinkle of caster sugar.

  4. Carefully place your bread into the grill or airfryer and cook for 3-5 minutes, until golden on top.

  5. Place onto a serving plate, and drizzle with maple syrup – Enjoy!
