Meat-free Sausage Rolls

A recipe that is simple and a true crowd-pleaser is always the best to have on hand, especially around holiday time.⁠

If you haven’t tried making meat-free sausage rolls, this is your sign to go out and give them a go (trust us, you won’t be missing the meat) 😄⁠

Serves 12

 

Ingredients

  • 1 small brown onion, sliced

  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed

  • 1/2 cup raw walnuts

  • 300g of firm tofu

  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats

  • 3 tablespoons of reduced-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano

  • Fresh basil, torn up roughly

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed

  • 2 tbsp soy milk

  • 2tbsp sesame seeds

Method

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor, except the pastry, to make the “sausage roll” mixture

  • Spoon generous heaps of the mixture onto the puff pastry, and roll them up

  • Cut the 2 long sausage rolls into 12 small rolls

  • Place onto a lined baking tray spread apart. Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with the soy milk then sprinkle the sesame seeds on top

  • Bake for 20 mins at 200 degrees Celcius

  • Enjoy with your favourite dipping sauce
