Hannah Wilson

When I was younger, I competed in athletics. There came a point where I put so much pressure on myself to do well, I began to cut down my eating with the belief that lighter equals faster. In turn, developed an eating disorder. My performance suffered and I couldn’t compete or train. It then became my passion to assist others in fuelling their bodies to optimise their performance without compromising longer term health or a healthy relationship with food.

I have also struggled with fuelling my training even as an adult and a sports dietitian. As someone with ADHD, food actually doesn’t come easily to me. I struggle to plan, remember to eat and task switch. For a long time I felt guilty about this and I felt like a fraud. However, I’ve realised that this has been something that has shaped the way I practice for the better. I understand that food can be hard (for so many different reasons!) and focussing on getting consistent with the big nutrition priorities is better than exhausting yourself nailing every single detail.

Although I have worked with athletes of all levels, my ideal client is anyone who is motivated to take a step forward in their health & performance.

I’ve now begun to take a lot of joy in building my team, seeing them grow as practitioners and seeing all of our clients achieve their goals.

My approach is to keep it as simple and easy as possible so that my clients are spending less time in the kitchen and more time doing the things they love.

I like to gain a deep understanding of my clients values around food, socialising, performance etc and form realistic goals together, where these values are the foundation.

There is always so many things we can optimise when it comes to nutrition, and sometimes it can be very overwhelming. I like to map this all out and then work with my clients to find the key priorities and work from the ground up. Our values can help us prioritise the changes that will have the greatest impact on our lives.

I think that forming a roadmap early on is important and having the ability to adapt that to changing circumstances in life is even more key.

Overall, I would say that I am a dietitian who values your input, autonomy and unique preferences and works with you to come up with a nutrition plan that fits your needs as simply as possible.
